Andrew Saw – Audit Manager

Andrew is a triathlete and marathon runner, having regularly participated in the Noosa and Mooloolaba triathlons, as well as completing the Melbourne and Gold Coast Marathons. As a youth he played AFL in country Victoria and was involved in competitive swimming. A few years back, he and his wife Katie trekked to Mt Everest’s base camp.

This penchant for high performance activity perhaps says more of the individual and his professional career to date than anything else – after all the inherent qualities required of an athlete naturally transfer to work ethic.

However, Andrew modestly says that his high energy pursuits are relatively recent, but a glimpse at his professional profile indicates that the qualities for competing at a high level appear to have always been present.

Andrew has over 20 years accounting experience, mostly gained in Melbourne where he worked for Grant Thornton and later for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, arguably the world’s most respected accounting firm.

At PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Andrew’s role was varied and interesting. He enjoyed significant exposure to audit, insolvency and special accounting projects across a variety of industries involving complex financial and accounting matters.

His is a unique skill set, which was further developed through a series of secondments to large organisations for special needs projects.

The first was to NAB, where Andrew worked on credit restructuring projects for small and medium businesses.

He was also seconded to ASIC (Australian Securities & Investment Commission) performing surveillances on directors of companies suspected of insolvent trading. His work involved detailed financial analysis of performance, solvency, cashflow and working capital management to implement corrective strategy and action where necessary.

At FocusPG Chartered Accountants, Andrew is responsible for the delivery of high quality financial assurance and consultancy services principally to aged care and retirement village clients and local solicitors and real estate agents. His highly analytical and investigative skills complementing the intense legislative changes required of this particular business sector.

Working in a highly specialized growth sector, Andrew has seen a steady increase in new clients. He works closely with both large and small entities as well as religious and Not-For-Profit Organisations.

Andrew also offers cost effective and efficient trust account audit services to a group of well-respected Sunshine Coast based solicitor firms and real estate agents.

Andrew provides invaluable technical advice and assistance and takes a proactive approach to ensure issues arising out of the ever-changing legislative environment are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

Andrew also conducts forensic due-diligence, budget and cashflow modelling, financial reporting and other expert financial services. He is focussed on improving systems and gaining efficiencies and absolutely committed to exceeding client expectations.

Married to Katie, they have two active children and enjoy Coast life. Andrew is also a patrolling life-saving member at Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club and was recently recognised as a Noosa & Mooloolaba Triathlon legend.
